Panic! Crazy accidents! Sudden illnesses! The shit is bananas and it is hitting the fan!
Mars is in detriment in Libra, opposing Uranus in Aries, and holding the reins of this T-square is Pluto in Capricorn. Do you have a fever yet? I do. In fact, I have the flu for the first time in seven or eight years, just before my final exams. I actually don‘t get sick very much anymore since developing an over-active immune system (psoriasis). Therefore, I have nothing in my home to help with the illness, since I don‘t often need to prepare for illness.
Has the shit hit the fan for you? What has happened at the worst possible time for you? Is the sky falling right now?
But wait. Seriously. Take a deep breath. It isn‘t as bad as it seems, and if you keep your head, you will find that it will be okay.
With a T-square, the opposition tends to take center stage, with the apex planet balancing the two, or, being the point where the energy of tension seems to collect. When Mars opposes Uranus, sudden change, brilliance, accidents, and collective insanity seem to take center stage. The energy is building up at Pluto in Capricorn, which would rather dig deep and resolve the problem without rashness.
That is the key. Use Pluto in Capricorn. Don‘t do anything drastic, even if you really feel pushed to making a snap decision. It may not be in your best interest, especially in your best financial or social interest.
For example: you get into a car accident and it is your fault. You don‘t have the funds to cover the repairs, and you don‘t know what your insurance will cover. You can‘t get to work without a car. You will lose your home. Everything will fall apart.
Or will it? Let‘s look at what you could do in this situation. Do you have any credit, anywhere? Do you have other ways to make money from home? Do you have any skills you can freelance, even if you hate the work? Can you take the bus?
Pluto in Capricorn is not going to give you a solution that you enjoy. What it will do is make you dig deep and find fortitude or perish. You have a choice between your pride or humility. Saturn conjunct the Sun square Neptune kind of already tells us that we have to choose between pride or vision anyway, and it takes balls to follow a vision (Mars opposing Uranus) and adapt.
What house is Cancer in for you? Use the T-square witching rod to figure out not only what thing your panick and sudden change will hit upon, but how you will handle it. If you have done a lot of personal work to overcome things like anxiety, you may find it coming back to bite you in the ass, especially if you have been conditioned to be anxious and react hastily to change. What is missing in Cancer? Cancer is where you feel secure. It is where you have a sense of being protected. You may not have a mother to run to, but you may have a way of nurturing yourself through this.
In reality, there are always sudden changes and usually, we can take them in stride, if we know to take them in stride, and if we have a moment to assess the situation and step away from it. The world, believe it or not, isn’t terribly interested in your wants and needs. One of the reasons people tend to panic at change and why some meltdown is because they take it personally. We all do this sometimes, and people who do this on a regular basis tend to live life as if they have no agency. They are fatalistic. Often, they accomplish little to nothing. I grew up with adults who would often react to obstacles, challenges, and change with melodrama and panic. Of course, this didn’t help anything — it often made things worse — and if someone else didn’t step in and fix the problem, nothing was fixed.
And nothing was ever learned, such that when the next challenge arose, they still didn‘t overcome it, and they never learned how to safeguard against the damage.
The most important lesson to learn when shit happens is that life isn‘t really personal.
You may actually find that over the next couple weeks, you find it easier to help others with their problems than to fix your own.
If you are being touched by this T-Square‘s sudden changes, now is a time in which you may decide to change your course of action for a while. Uranus opposing Mars likes to do this shit every once in a while. Consider it an act of rebellion against your own illusions about yourself, and you will feel better about it.
You may even want to consider tapping into the Saturn/Sun square with Neptune and taking an assessment of the talents and traits you may have cultivated in the past and figuring out a way to monetize them. Even if you hate bookkeeping, is there a way for you to do some of it, especially with tax season coming?
Of course, this isn‘t the best time for conceiving new ideas. Mercury and Jupiter are square each other, in detriment AND mutual reception. Jupiter in Virgo is pretty good at juggling what is already conceived and underway. Mercury in Sagittarius is pretty good at taking concepts and attempting to make them material. It is, however, a good time to consider things that are already underway, at least in your mind, or things that you have a lot of practice at organizing so that it isn‘t daunting to you. Actually, Jupiter in Virgo can be an indicator of lots of anxiety if there is no discernible way to resolve it.
My advice? For the next few weeks, do whatever you have to do. Don‘t do what you don‘t have to do. Okay, that sounds simple, but really: take an inventory of what you have to do.
For example, I have to get over the flu. I have to study for my finals. I have to do the laundry. I have to thank people for my birthday gifts.
I DON‘T have to start working on my books again. I don’t have to go shopping. I don’t have to party. I don’t have to find a full-time job (yet) or find a summer internship (yet). Those things will be there for me in another two weeks when the major stressors have passed. I don’t have to concern myself with whatever is not immediately on my plate.
And if more shit hits the fan, I can take it in stride. I hope. Here‘s to hoping, anyway.
